President Bashar al-Assad received North Korean Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Sin Hong Chol and an accompanying delegation on Sunday.
Minister Chol stressed that the DPRK is committed to refining bilateral relations with Syria, stating that Pyongyang will not spare any effort to support the Syrian people in defending the sovereignty and independence of their country in their just struggle against terrorism.
Syria’s deep connection with North Korea stems first and foremost from the ethical principles between the two nations built on national dignity and loyalty to friends, said President Assad.
President Assad also emphasized that Syria and North Korea are targeted because they are among the few countries which enjoy real independence, standing together against the very enemy that seeks to change the national identity of their peoples.
