TV Presenter Killed in Terrorist Shelling of Eastern Ghouta

A terrorist mortar attack on residential areas of Damascus countryside and Deir-ez-Zor has left two civilians dead, including a TV presenter, and a number of others injured, a source at Damascus Radio told SANA.

Nour al-Sham TV and Damascus Radio Presenter Batoul Moukhles al-Warar was killed on Tuesday when a mortar shell fell on the suburb of Harasta, Damascus Countryside. Warar was killed after after sustaining shrapnel wounds while travelling to work at Nour al-Sham, the source said.

Meanwhile, a source at Damascus Countryside Police Command told SANA that terrorists positioned in Eastern Ghouta fired a mortar shell on Block B 4 in Harasta, killing a woman and injuring others, in addition to causing material damage.

In the eastern province of Deir-ez-Zor, a woman was killed when a mortar shell struck the al-Joura neighborhood in the eastern Syrian city. A source from the governorate police command confirmed the attack, attributing the shelling to Islamic State militants.
