The Syrian air force conducted a number of raids against Islamic State (ISIS) targets in Khan Abu al-Shammat and Al-Kassarat in the eastern part of the Damascus countryside on Monday.
Scores of ISIS fighters were killed and several machine gun-equipped vehicles were destroyed in the attacks.
In the central province of Homs, the air force destroyed a Nusra Front position in Teir Maale village in the northern countryside of the province.
Army units, in cooperation with popular defense groups, also foiled a terrorist attack on military checkpoints in Kansaba area in the northeastern countryside of Lattakia.
