Syrian Govt. Focusing All Resources on Supporting Aleppo’s Residents: Makhlouf

Relief subcommittee discusses relief efforts in Aleppo as first civilians begin to leave the opposition-held eastern neighborhoods

Head of the Higher Committee for Relief Hussein Makhlouf asserted the Syrian government’s commitment to dedicating all available resources to people leaving the eastern neighborhoods of Aleppo city.

Chairing the relief subcommittee meeting on Saturday evening, Makhlouf said that the Higher Committee is focusing all its resources to supporting Aleppo and providing for the needs of locals, stressing that all state establishments in the city must work together to accommodate the families that choose to leave the eastern neighborhoods through humanitarian corridors.

For his part, Health Minister Nizar Yazigi said the ministry is working to provide medical services to the people leaving the eastern districts, including checkups, emergency procedures, treatment, and surgeries, adding that the ministry is committed to providing medical shipments to Aleppo on a rolling basis.
