Syrian Pilot Killed in Crash-landing at Aleppo Military Base: Source

Opposition website Zaman al-Wasl speaks to source who claims regime pilot diverted from his landing lane before crashing at the Nayrab air base

A Syrian air force pilot was killed on Sunday while crash-landing at the Nayrab military airport in Aleppo province, a source confirmed.

Pilot Lt. Col. Basel Saleh was immediately killed when the Su-22 air craft crashed upon returning from bombing targets in the eastern Aleppo countryside.

The cause of the incident has not yet been revealed, but the source said the pilot had diverted from his lane before hitting the ground.
