Syria Slams Backers of Terrorism for Tehran Attacks

Syria strongly condemned the two terrorist attacks which took place in Tehran on Wednesday, stressing that such incidents will not discourage Syria and Iran from continuing to fight terrorism.

The twin terrorist attacks targeted Iran’s parliament and the shrine of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the late founder of the Islamic Republic, resulting in the death and injury of a number of innocent citizens.

In a statement, Syria’s Foreign Ministry voiced its full solidarity with the leadership, government and people of Iran, and offered its condolences to the families of the victims.

Syria stressed that such “terrorist attacks backed by well-known countries and circles will not discourage Syria and Iran from continuing their fight against terrorism that is supported by countries and parties known in the region and beyond,” the ministry said.
