Cabinet Allocates 1 Billion Pounds to Support Family Agriculture Program

During its weekly session chaired by Prime Minister Imad Khamis, the Cabinet tasked the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform and the central follow-up committees in the provinces to expand the family agriculture program and provided it with one billion pounds to implement a second phase by the beginning of next winter.

The Cabinet also instructed the Ministry of Local Administration and Environment to follow up the improvements of the basic services in the provinces related to health, water, electricity, communications, and fuel.

The Cabinet discussed and approved a draft law amending law no. 13 of 1990 concerning the Artists Guild. The draft law addresses shortcomings related to the specific qualifications needed for membership to the Guild as well as its powers and its councils.

The Council instructed the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank to find a suitable formula for collecting stamp duty from private banks and microfinance companies.
