Zaman al-Wasl has published exclusively the latest decisions by the mainstream opposition bloc, the Syrian National Coalition, following their meetings held in Istanbul on 15 September.
The first decision has been to entrust Jalal Khanji to form a committee on the situation of the Euphrates Dam after it was damaged in an attack by Syrian regime warplanes, as well as submit a report on fundraising requirements for it.
The second decision was to name a body from the General Commission, consisting 11 members to develop a plan in regard to the Coalition’s relationship with the Free Syrian Army. This should be resolved as soon as the regime falls.
Other decisions were previously published by Zaman al-Wasl, including the election of Ahmad Tomeh as head of the Interim government after winning 75 out of 97 votes.
Names of candidate ministers were submitted to the General Commission, which will appoint the minister.
The national sovereignty law was also agreed to with 64 votes, requiring all agreements, treaties and conventions with any other party to be authenticated by the first elected parliament which has the right to approve, modify or cancel them.
In accordance with the agreement, the Kurdish National Council was accepted to the Coalition with a majority of 54 votes out of 80, with the exception of articles 14 and 15.
The meeting agreed to issue a statement in regard to the Russian-American initiative, and send a message to the American administration soon.
