Syrian Interior Minister Mohammad al-Shaar has revealed the reopening of the Syrian embassy in Kuwait next Monday. The embassy will operate to assist in the affairs of Syrian citizens traveling or living abroad.
The move came in response to questions and queries from members of the Syrian People's Assembly, where Shaar explained that the new system for the issuance of identity cards is still in progress. Shaar pointed out the reasons for the delay, citing the issuance of new and replacement identity cards in the province of Aleppo where production materials are scarce and frequent power outages cause long server delays.
Shaar claimed the problem began to ease after securing printers from other provinces, coupled with the increase of workers employed on the project.
