Meetings of the Syrian-Iranian Joint Committee in the field of Public Works and Housing began Monday at the headquarters of the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development.
The meetings, which were chaired by Syria’s Minister of Public Works and Housing, Suhail Abdullatif, and Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mohammad Eslami, aim at promoting bilateral cooperation and achieving a qualitative leap in the field of construction and building suburbs and cities as required by the reconstruction phase in Syria.
Abdullatif stressed the importance of the practical implementation of the Memoranda of Understanding, inked between the two parties at the beginning of joint work between the companies involved.
“There are many areas and opportunities for bilateral cooperation, and the obstacles to the progress of cooperation must be removed by implementing executive plans for housing and public services projects in Syria.” he said.
For his part, the Iranian Minister affirmed his ministry’s readiness to cooperate with the Syrian Ministry of Public Works and Housing and work to achieve tangible results in this field.
