Regime forces brutally attacked two elderly women, burning one of the victims to death, as the fighters entered Sahl al-Ghab in the northern countryside of Hama earlier this month.
Sources told Enab baladi that 70-year-old Hajj Danouf Alhussein was burned to death by regime forces and allied militias traveling to the village of al-Karim in Sahl al-Ghab on July 4. According to reports, Alhussein was killed for refusing to leave her village. Enab Baladi was provided with photo evidence confirming the brutal attack.
Sources also confirmed regime forces shot Hajj Fatim al-Ammouri, an elderly woman from the village of al-Azizia in Sahl al-Ghab, while entering her village. No further information is regarding the attack is available.
Regime forces, supported by National Defense Force militias, have entered a number of villages in Sahl al-Ghab since the start of July, causing an estimated 100,000 locals to leave their homes in the areas of al-Hways, al-Huaija, al-Sharia, al-Azizia and al-Akarim.
