Operation Kills 75 Regime Militia, Destroys Army Building

More than 75 Syrian government forces were killed on Sunday in bombings carried out by fighters with the Free Syrian Army at two buildings of the General Command of Army Transport in Harasta, in Damascus countryside.

Media sources from the Syrian opposition told Sky News Arabia that the bombings killed at least 75 army soldiers and members of Lebanon's Hezbollah.

The sources pointed out that the clashes are still continuing between the fighters of the Syrian opposition and government forces at the outskirts of the Army Transport buildings.

A clip broadcasted by a brigade calling itself the Shield of the Capital, showed the building in Harasta completely collapsing, acccompanied by an enormous explosion.

Thick clouds of smoke could be seen billowing from the area but the video did not show bodies and of dead or wounded soldiers.

Earlier on Sunday, AFP news agency reported the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said at least 31 soldiers were killed, including four senior officers, in the bombing of an army base.

The Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP that "31 members of the regime's forces were killed, including three brigadier-generals and a general, after the bombing of a building in vehicles department which is located on the outskirts of the city of Harasta", pointing to "the full collapse of the building."
