Moscow’s ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva, Alexei Borodavkin, said that the Russian-US center for monitoring the truce agreement in Syria began operations in the Swiss city on Wednesday.
"We expect the center’s effective work to help prevent ceasefire violations in Syria," Borodavkin told Russian TASS news agency.
On Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced the establishment of the center following a meeting with the Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura in Moscow.
