An Islamic State (ISIS) car bomb exploded Saturday in the northern province of Aleppo, killing at least seven rebel fighters in an attack on a rival group in the town of Tal Rifaat, a Zaman al-Wasl reporter said.
The rigged car exploded near a military post affiliated to the Levant Front, a key rebel group operating in the province of Aleppo, leaving seven fighters dead.
The ultra-hardline ISIS has frequently targeted moderate and Western-backed rebel groups, often claiming that fighting these groups is of greater importance than combatting the Assad regime.
Meanwhile, rebels in the northern countryside of the province said they had taken two towns from ISIS on Saturday following heavy clashes.
Syrian activists have accused Russia of collaborating with ISIS in its fight against rebels by intensifying air strikes on its rival groups.
