The general manager of the state milling company, Abu Zeid Katba, announced on Thursday that a visiting Iranian delegation will complete the preliminary procedures to fund and build five mills in Syria. The funding will be met through the previously agreed Iranian credit line to Syria, which will be signed off on in the coming days following the deposit of the amount in the Commercial Bank of Syria.


Katba said that the purpose of the visit of the Iranian delegation also included the execution of the 62.6m Euro contract for the construction of the mills. Syria's responsibility i the project will be limited to providing the land sites for the mills; Iran will manage delivery and provide all machinery and equipment. Execution of the contract is expected to be completed within 20 months from the date of the funding deposit.
