Hundreds of inmates in Homs Central Prison on Tuesday continued to protest against violations practiced against detainees by the Assad regime's prison administration.
According to voice recordings sent by a number of prisoners over the internet to the Turkish Anadolu agency, regime forces had accused detainees of digging tunnels to flee the prison and subsequently carried out brutal investigations.
The prisoners said in the recordings that the security forces had tortured 10 prisoners during investigations, which caused discontent to grow to the point of disobedience.
The recordings noted that prisoners began their protest yesterday after closing the prison gates, which resulted in security forces shooting tear gas at them from elevated positions.
