Local sources said that assassinations recently targeted leaders and soldiers of local militias belonging to the Lebanese Hezbollah– which is supported by Iranian groups– in the Quneitra governorate.

Ahrar Horan reported the death of Ahmed Faisal al-Saleh, aka “Abu Saleh”, after he was targeted by unidentified gunfire on the road between the towns of Juba and Um Batina in the Quneitra countryside.

Local sources were quoted as saying that Saleh was leading a security group working for the Hezbollah militia.

On July 6th, Israeli occupation forces targeted  Farid Fouad Mustafa in Maqlaa Hadi, west of Khader. He has close ties to the Lebanese Hezbollah militia. The targeting killed him instantly, the Ahrar Horan Gathering said.

Mustafa is one of the most prominent figures close to Iranian militias in the region. He also works with a group of soldiers in the trade and promotion of narcotics for these militias, the source said.

Last June, a young man, Abdul Rahman Hamed Khalifa, from the town of al-Musaifra in the eastern countryside of Daraa, was killed after being targeted by an explosive device planted by unknown assailants in the village of al-Asbah, near the occupied Syrian Golan in Quneitra countryside.

Khalifa previously served as part of the FSA (Free Syrian Army) factions. After the settlements were made in 2018, he secretly joined Hezbollah cells headed by the mayor of Asbah village.
