Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Qadri Jamil, stressed that the political solution is the only and inevitable way out of the crisis in Syria.
In an interview with Russia Today TV channel, Jamil said that the Russian stance towards the crisis in Syria was balanced and objective from the very beginning as it stressed the need for dialogue and the same stance was adopted by the Syrian government through suggesting a political program to solve the crisis.
He pointed out that some sides disregard the presence of terrorist organizations, including Jabhat al-Nusra, in Syria, considering that the sides which support terrorism want to stoke the sectarian conflict in Syria and the region.
Jamil added that the western sanctions against the Syrian people caused a humanitarian catastrophe which the Syrian government is working hard to avoid as these sanctions targeted essential and vital sectors.
He said that if the West was honest in its intention to help the Syrian people, it would have helped the hundreds of thousands of displaced Syrians who live in miserable circumstances abroad.
Jamil added that the recent statement made by the French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius on the crisis in Syria revealed that Fabius started to understand the reality on the ground which indicates the beginning to realize the inevitability of political solution in Syria.
