A reliable source in the Syrian justice ministry has told All4Syria that the Attorney General at the Terrorism Court has referred Sheikh Yousef al-Qaradawi, Sheikh Adnan Arour and Sheikh Mohammad Habash to the court.
The three are charged with promoting sectarian violence, sowing discord amongst Syrians and supporting terrorism.
The Attorney General had raised cases against the three sheikhs two weeks ago, responding to orders from the head of national intelligence bureau, Ali Mamlouk. Mamlouk has already asked the justice ministry to refer cases against hundreds of Syrian opposition figures including Michel Kilo, Suhair Atassi, Muntaha Atrash, Mai Skaf, Firas Tlass, Abdul Halim Khaddam, Kamal Labwani, and many others.
All4Syria first reported the latest case ten days ago. Many opposition cases are still waiting to be processed in the terrorism court ahead of trial.
