Lavrov, Kerry Meet Thursday to Discuss Chemical Weapons

Officials at the U.S. State Department said that the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, and his U.S. counterpart, John Kerry, will hold a meeting in Geneva on Thursday to discuss the issue of the chemical weapons in Syria.

 

The Russian ITAR-TASS News Agency said that talks between the two sides aim at trying to reach an agreement on a U.N. draft resolution that puts chemical weapons in Syria under international supervision.

 

Earlier on Tuesday, Kerry said that the Russian proposal to place the chemical weapons in Syria under the international supervision will be officially sent to Washington in the upcoming hours.
