Syria’s investment priorities have changed in light of the current crisis, General Director of the Syrian Investment Agency Hala Ghazal told investors in Sweden on Tuesday.
Meeting with a delegation from the Defending Syria Body in Sweden, headed by George Maqdisi Elias, Ghazal said Syria's new focus will be on meeting citizens’ needs for food, energy and investing in the reconstruction phase.
Ulf Sandmark, a member of the visiting delegation, presented a document for Syrian reconstruction projects, including a number of key tracks setting out the country’s main priorities. Members expressed their desire to find local partners to assist in setting up proposed projects.
Founded in Sweden in 2012, the Defending Syria Body provides humanitarian and financial assistance to Syria, while helping Syrian expatriates and businessmen engage in supporting the Syrian people and contributing to the reconstruction process.
