The Aleppo health directorate of the Syrian temporary government announced that all hospitals in the blockaded city of Aleppo had stopped work due to heavy aerial bombardment.
A statement issued by the directorate late last night said, “Because of the regime attacks and the systematic Russian bombardment which has targeted the civilian districts of eastern Aleppo over the last 48 hours, all hospitals have stopped working.”
The statement accused “the regime army and Russian forces of using all its weapons and its full military arsenal in bombarding civilians and intentionally targeted infrastructure and vital institutions to prevent civilians, including women, children, the elderly and men, from receiving medical treatment.”
The statement called on “All the governments of the world to stop the war crimes in Aleppo immediately, as we call on all medical organizations and those working in the health field to stand alongside their colleagues in Aleppo.”
The statement comes after the bombing of the Omar bin Abdulaziz Hospital, the last hospital still working in the eastern Aleppo districts under opposition control, according to local sources.
For the last three days Aleppo has been subjected to a heavy air bombardment campaign which has killed at least 200 civilians and wounded hundreds of others.
