The general command of the Syrian armed forces on Sunday called on fighters in Daraa, Eastern Ghouta and the eastern countryside of Aleppo province to lay down their weapons in an effort to settle their status.
The command urged citizens in the opposition-held areas to be part of the national reconciliation process and return to their normal lives.
On February 4, the command also called on gunmen in the northern countryside of Homs to lay down arms.
