The Syria Response Coordinators team revealed the distribution of coronavirus infection rates between the beginning of June and Tuesday 15th.
The team reported that the total number of infections during the first 15 days of June totaled 1400 in northwestern Syria. Out of those infected, 317 were within the camps, while 14 were from the medical staff.
The team added that the areas with high infection rates were as follows: Harem 358 cases, al-Bab 323 cases, Afrin 218 cases, Azaz 210 cases, Idleb 110 cases, and Jarablus 95 cases.
They stressed the importance of abiding by precautionary measures, especially in areas where the number of cases is surging.
The team also warned that the number of infections would increase exponentially unless strict measures are taken to slow the rapid spread of the virus.
They then recommended that civilians in these areas receive the new COVID-19 vaccines. The vaccination procedure should comply with the categories specified by the medical authorities, to contribute to the reduction of the rate of infections.
On Tuesday, 15th June, the Early Warning and Epidemic Response Network of the Support Coordination Unit recorded 179 new cases of coronavirus in both northwestern Syria and the Turkish Operation Spring area.
