The Free Syrian Army (FSA) announced that Colonel Ammar Ahmad Sharifi of the Republican Guard was killed in the neighborhood of Barzeh on Tuesday.
Colonel Sharifi was appointed one week ago as the commander of the Syrian forces campaign against Barzeh.
Activists also reported the death of Colonel Rateb Ayouche, nicknamed "The Lion of Qaboun" who was one of the most prominent officers in the campaign against the neighborhood of Qaboun in Damascus suburbs.
The FSA also targeted the headquarters of the pro-regime militia "Shabbiha" forces near Abbassine Square with a B10 homemade rockets, killing several militias and injuring others.
