The Nusra Front and Sham al-Rasoul brigade in the suburbs of Babila and Beit Sahm, south of Damascus, have agreed to a ceasefire following two days of fierce infighting that killed dozens of fighters and four civilians, activists told Zaman al-Wasl.
Last week, over 1,500 people took to the streets after Friday prayers to protest against Nusra's practices and abuses.
Repeated abuses by Al-Qaeda’s Syrian wing has pushed both people and rebels of the embattled suburbs of Babila and Beit Sahm to request Nusra's departure to avoid further bloodshed.
A Zaman al-Wasl reporter said Nusra fighters have arrested the commander of Sham al-Rasoul, Abu Ammar, killing his comrade.
