Lattakia Governor Ibrahim Khodr al-Salem met with regional director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Samuel Rizk to discuss boosting cooperation in all development sectors in the coastal province.
The governor reviewed the services provided to citizens in light of the increasing number of arrivals to the province from other areas due to terrorist attacks, calling on the UNDP to keep apace with the situation to better provide aid to those who need it.
Salem hailed the efforts of UNDP in the humanitarian sector, calling on the international organization to develop plans to help citizens and arrivals to implement income-generating projects.
In turn, Rizk reviewed a number of UNDP-backed projects in Lattakia, including a waste disposal scheme which will provide around 212 job opportunities.
