An Emirati ISIS leader was killed in clashes with the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) in the countryside of Hasaka, in the northeast of the country, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported Tuesday.
The Observatory reported reliable sources saying that ISIS has kidnapped the leader of the United Military Council of Northern Damascus. The Free Syrian Army officer was the leader of the Fourth Brigade, known as Damascus Guards. He was shot in Yarmouk camp on 22 February on the basis of accusations he was working for the Sahwa forces, but his fate remains unknown. Activists accuse the ISIS of trying to eliminate him.
It is worth noting that ISIS executed 15 commanders of the fighting battalions of Damascus Guards during the last two weeks of February.
