The Bayrouni University Hospital has launched eight specialized clinics in the Department of Oncology at the Mazzeh branch in Damascus to provide patients with chemotherapy, in addition to the opening a new gamma camera department for medical diagnosis and radiation therapy.
Since the current circumstances make reaching the hospital’s headquarters in Harasta difficult, two stories in Mazzeh branch have been renovated to accommodate 30 extra beds and a dispensary was added to provide cancer medication, in addition to a laboratory and the gamma camera.
Bayrouni’s Mazzeh Branch offers radiotherapy to cancer patients. It contains advanced equipment such as the linear accelerator (LINAC), radioisotope therapy, and a cobalt device.
The hospital provides services to 400 patients per day in both branches. The total number of patients reached 150,000 in 2013.
