Assad Launches National Project for Administrative Reform

President Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday launched the National Project for Administrative Reform during a Cabinet session in the Kafr Sousa neighborhood of the capital Damascus.

Assad said that the project will unify the work of all ministries through the newly formed Center for Administrative Assessment and Support, which will devise mechanisms for assessing the performance and systems of establishments, as well as combating corruption.

The project will also include founding the Administrative Performance Observatory, one of whose tasks will be to follow up on how establishments implement the criteria set by the center.

Another part of the project is the Human Resources Service Center, which is tasked with improving the government’s employment policy by documenting available manpower and job vacancies.

Assad added that the project will also involve the launching of a new website to communicate with citizens and receive their suggestions, complaints or evaluations regarding establishments.
