The General Command of the People's Protection Units (YPG) declared a one-sided cease-fire on the first day of Eid al-Adha.
The statement expressed the intention of Kurdish forces YPG to hold a cease-fire in appreciation and respect for the sanctity of Eid al-Adha in response to the insistence of some friends and movements in "West Kurdistan" who had expressed their support for a cease-fire, even a one-sided cease-fire in line with the customs and traditions of the Muslim people.
Despite the statement and all the attempts to halt fighting and reach a peaceful political solution to prevent the daily loss of lives, unsurprising news arrived from the leaders of YPG units on the first day of Eid. It was reported that forces from ISIS (The Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant) launched an attack on several Kurdish forces' checkpoints at exactly 6:30 in the morning in the villages of Tal Alo, Tel Alo al-Ghamr, Kharab Bajar, and the checkpoint of al-Tahonah.
The attack resulted in Kurdish forces killing nearly ten fighters from ISIS and damaging one of their tanks. Despite the one-sided cease-fire, clashes continue between YPG the Islamic forces of Al-Qaeda and various extremist organizations.
