In the past few days, six people have died in the southern Syrian governorate of Daraa as a result of sporadic assassinations. 

Former Free Syrian Army (FSA) leader, Jamal Sharaf, a.k.a Abu al-Zein, was targeted and killed by unknown assailants in the city of Nawa, west of Daraa. The assailants were riding a motorcycle at al-Rajhi laundry west of the city. A person accompanying Sharaf was injured.

An explosive device exploded near the town of Um al-Mayathen, east of Daraa. A person tried to plant it on the Damascus-Daraa International Road, killing him instantly without knowledge of his identity. 

On Friday, three people were killed in various areas as a result of assassinations of local members of the security branches. 

Unknown assailants opened fire on an officer working for the State Security Branch, killing him and another young man who was with him in Nimr town of Daraa countryside. 

A military security person was killed last Friday after being shot by unidentified gunmen in the Daraa governorate.
