Syria, North Korea to Enhance Coordination, Mutual Support at International Forums

Walid al-Muallem highlighted the importance of boosting cooperation across all fields and enhancing relations reported The Syria Times.

Deputy Premier and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Muallem, visiting the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), held talks with Vice-Chairman of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and Director of the WPK International Affairs Department, Ri Su Yong, on enhancing bilateral ties and the efforts being exerted by the two countries to confront the hegemony, economic terrorism and unilateral coercive economic measures imposed by western countries.

View points were identical regarding the importance of boosting cooperation across all fields and enhancing relations between the Baath Arab Socialist Party and the WPK. The two sides agreed on exchanging visits at all levels and on coordination and mutual support at international forums.

They also agreed on holding the next meeting of the Syrian-Korean Economic Committee this year in Damascus.
