Syrian PM Calls on All Syrians to Participate in National Dialogue

Chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halqi, the ministerial committee tasked with implementing the political program for resolving the crisis in Syria held a meeting with the board of directors of the Syrian League of the United Nations.

 

Chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halqi, the ministerial committee tasked with implementing the political program for resolving the crisis in Syria held a meeting with the board of directors of the Syrian League of the United Nations.

 

Premier al-Halqi reviewed the government's efforts to carry out the preliminary stages of the dialogue process and the positive results it achieved through its meetings.

 

Al-Halqi called on all faithful Syrians to participate in the political process, including coordinators and gunmen who abandon arms, in order to expand dialogue.

 

He asserted that the government is working to provide the people's livelihood needs in parallel with confronting the escalating crimes of Takfiri terrorist groups, lauding the sacrifices of the Syrian Army and people to restore security and stability.

 

Al-Halqi underlined the need for the League to expose in international circles the nature of what is affecting Syrian citizens and explain the nature of the crimes committed by armed groups, in addition to its important role in bolstering the culture of dialogue.

 

In turn, chairman of the League George Jabbour voiced support for the political program and the government's efforts for implementing it.

 

Members of the League posed viewpoints on how to resolve the crisis via communicating with all elements of the Syrian people, boosting relations with UN organizations, dealing with poverty and unemployment, and bolstering national economy.

 

In turn, members of the ministerial committee affirmed that there's a real and honest desire to ensure the success of the national dialogue conference, noting that the government has real options for bolstering national economy and providing citizens' needs.

 

In a statement after the meeting, Dr. Jabbour pointed out to the importance of the national dialogue and its role in finding solutions to the crisis, noting that the League is working in cooperation with several sides to develop positive political awareness on the popular movement and restoration of security and stability with the participation of all Syrians in the dialogue process.

 

Secretary of the League, Dr. Mohammad Said al-Halabi, clarified the work of the League in dealing with the crisis, adding that the League's work has political and developmental dimensions , hailing the role of the civil society and humanitarian contributions in providing the basic needs for the affected people.
