UNDP and Civil Society Groups Distribute 10,000 Kitchen Packages

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP), in cooperation with 12 civil society groups, has distributed 10,000 kitchenware packages to displaced families in Syria.

U.N. media advisor Khaled al-Masri told SANA that the initiative complements the work of World Food Program (WFP) efforts to distribute food relief among needy families.

He said packages were distributed in Damascus, Damascus Countryside, Hasaka, Sweida, Daraa, Aleppo, Lattakia, Deir Al-zor, Tartous, Homs, Hama and Idleb.

Masri said that since last year, the UNDP has provided non-food supplies to around 50,000 families, including health-related goods, winter supplies, children's clothing and more, adding that the UNDP is currently seeking to expand operations if the necessary funding arrives.
