Army units have discovered a mass grave containing bodies of civilians killed by terrorists in the northern countryside of Latakia, an official source announced.
The source said the mass grave, which contained charred and decomposed bodies, was discovered in one of the villages where the army recently restored security and stability.
The source said that some of the bodies have been identified by victims' families, while others were unable to be identified as their bodies were too burned.
Coroner Ali Ali, who examined the bodies, said men, women and children were among the dead, adding that they were severely disfigured, with some features completely gone.
Ali told Syrian TV that the cause of death varied;some victims stabbed with sharp objects, others had their throat slit, and some were shot.
