The Water Resources Ministry and the World Health Organization (WHO) signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday on building an observation system to observe water quality.
The memo also stipulates the development of an emergency plan to respond to water contamination incidents and the preparation of laboratories to observe water quality and evaluate the needs for water treatment.
The Minister of Water Resources, Bassam Hanna, hailed the efforts of the WHO in providing the ministry with all technical help required after Syria was deprived of required materials due to an unjust economic siege imposed on the country.
