Wadah Jamil al-Assad tells FSA: Bashar Will be Toppled

Rebels reported they had captured the captain, a cousin of Bashar Assad, on route to Damascus

Activists have reported that the battalion of Riad al-Saliheen has arrested captain Wadah Jamil al-Assad, a cousin of Bashar Assad.

The battalion broadcasted a video of the captain. When asked where he was serving, Assad said he served in Brigade 127 tanks division, confirming that he was arrested while on route to Damascus, by members of the Free Syrian Army.

Footage showed what they claimed to be a civilian identity card and reports from officers serving with Assad.

In the video, he advised his colleagues to defect from the regime and join the revolution because "Bashar Assad is inevitably toppled," he said.
