Minister Says Government Working to Deliver Aid to Yarmouk

The Minister of Social Affairs, Kinda al-Shammat discussed with Palestinian Labor Minister Ahmad Majdalani on Thursday ways for delivering humanitarian aid to residents of Yarmouk camp and displaced families inside Syria.

 

Shammat said cooperation was needed with the relevant bodies to find mechanisms for delivering aid to the citizens in the camp through the establishment of "safe passages."

 

She said there was a need for called for concentrated efforts on the humanitarian needs and said all parties were attempting to foil initiatives to resolve the crisis in the camp to exploit the situation politically.

 

The Palestinian minister pointed out that armed terrorists groups in the camp are preventing aid delivery and were using civilians as a political hostages.

 

He said that the initiative issued by the Popular Reconciliation Committee on August aims at expelling gunmen from the camp and keeping Palestinians out of the crisis, as well as guaranteeing the return of citizens to their homes.
