Free Syrian Army battalions announced Monday the liberation of several regime military checkpoints and the destruction of others in the southern province of Deraa.

A report issued by FSA media said several battalions participated in the battle nicknames “Geneva of the Horan” and said that rebel battalions “were able to liberate the northern checkpoint of Osman village in the western countryside" of Deraa.

Meanwhile, rebels in the eastern countryside destroyed two tanks and liberated a regime checkpoint in the town of Shaqra.

Rebels also destroyed a checkpoint in the town of al-Nujaij as violent clashes were underway at the headquarters of the regime 12th Brigade in Azrah. Two tanks were destroyed in the battle and regime troops in the city were targeted with rockets.

Separately, sources said that the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria had attacked a number of Nusra Front positions in the eastern countryside of Deir El-Zor, especially in the villages of Hatlah, al-Hisan and Khsham.

The Syria News Office said that the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) took control of several factories, including a gas facility in Khsham, in addition to flour mills, following violent clashes. ISIS was able to capture many Nusra fighters.

The Nusra Front had been on control of the mills in the eastern countryside of the governorate, and was providing rebel-controlled regions with flour.
