Mekdad Says Syrian Government Ready to Solve Yarmouk Crisis

Mekdad says government will help restore water, power and phone grids

Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Faisal Mekdad on Wednesday met with Director of the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) politburo in Damascus, Ambassador Anwar Abdulhadi to discuss the latest developments in the Palestinian refugee camps.

 

Mekdad reiterated Syria's readiness to facilitate all that is needed to make a popular Palestinian initiative to solve the crisis in Yarmouk camp.

 

He said the government will provide necessary workshops to repair power, water and phone grids until all services are restored to the camp, adding that the food distribution and the evacuation of patients and students from the camp will continue.

 

Mekdad pointed to the unified stance of the PLO and the 14 factions in favor of the initiative for solving the crisis in Yarmouk.
