Syria Says International Effort Needed to Eliminate Terrorism after Peshawar Attack

The ministry denounced as "vicious" the attack which claimed the lives of 148 people, mostly school children

The Foreign and Expatriates Ministry expressed on Wednesday Syria’s vehement condemnation of the terrorist attack which targeted a school  in Peshawar city in Pakistan on Tuesday.

An official source at the ministry denounced as "vicious" the attack which claimed the lives of 148 people, mostly school children.

The source described the attack, which was carried out by obscurantist takfiris as "cowardly, and stressed that it once againhighlights the urgent need for a collective international effort to eliminate the scourge of terrorism and maintain international stability, peace and security."

This effort, the source confirmed, should be in compliance with the international legitimacy and its resolutions.

It voiced Syria’s deep condolences to the families of the victims and sympathy with the friendly people and government of Pakistan.

The Taliban movement claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack against the Pakistani army-run school, which also left 124 injured, in addition to hundreds who are still trapped.
