Information Minister: The Opposition’s Language Has Failed

”What distinguishes the Syrian state (from the opposition) is that it addresses the Syrians…the leadership and the government have more courage, capabilities and cohesion, and that is one of its secrets of steadfastness”

Minister of Information Omran al-Zoubi reiterated that terrorism and the “moderate opposition”, supported by the US, cannot be separated while the administrations talking of fighting terrorism are the ones which continue to back it.

Interviewed by Syrian TV on Wednesday, Minister Zoubi noted that opposition rhetoric is directed not to the Syrian people, since it has no grounding in Syria, but as motivation for further killing and blood shedding, adding: “the opposition has to be convinced that its language failed and its only exit-route is an open-minded dialogue”.

“The opposition is setting conditions (for dialogue) that are not of its own, but rather of Erdogan, Hamad, Hollande and intelligence services”, Zoubi claimed, affirming that the Syrian government conducts dialogue with any side on the bases of Syria’s interests, and that nobody can dictate anything upon the Syrian people.

The minister highlighted Syria’s role towards the crisis since its beginning, saying: ”What distinguishes Syria, as a state, since the beginning of the events, is that it addresses the Syrians…the leadership and the government have more courage, capabilities and cohesion, and that is one of its secrets of steadfastness”.
