Foreign Media Outlets Aim to Spread Chaos, Extremism in Syria: Reconciliation Minister

National Reconciliation Minister Ali Haidar said that Syria is being attacked by media outlets in an effort to spread chaos and support extremism to achieve the agendas of states that are hostile toward Syria.

During a meeting with a delegation of Western journalists on Tuesday, Haidar noted the important role that can be played by the media and political delegations who seek the truth about what is happening in Syria and want to convey the real image to the Western public.

Haidar added that the main obstacle hindering reconciliations is the armed terrorist groups that fulfill the goals of the countries that support them and are trying to escalate the crisis in Syria.

For his part, head of the visiting delegation Jamal Daoud noted that the members had spoken to the people of Aleppo and Homs about the crimes committed by armed terrorist organizations. He said that the terrorist bombing which targeted the buses traveling from Kefraya and Fouaa was a crime, adding that the international community’s silence toward the event is no surprise.
