Shaaban: We Do Not Want Wars, but We Do Not Fear Them

The presidency’s political and media consultant, Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban, said that the show of force which the United States and the West are exercising against Syria and its allies in the anti-terrorism axis is part of a psychological war whose failure has been reflected in the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab Army in the Eastern Ghouta.

Shaaban said in a meeting with the Al-Mayadeen TV channel: "I do not believe that this psychological war against Syria will achieve what they desire from it, which is to serve the terrorists in the Eastern Ghouta, because the world is not an open field for them after today. There are other forces who have announced that if our allies are threatened or struck, we will respond."

Shaaban added: "We do not want wars, but we do not fear them either, and we are ready for them if they occur, especially given that the balance of powers and rules of engagement have changed a great deal in Syria’s favor. We are much better than we were in the past."

Shaaban said that the Ghouta victory was a decisive point in the course of the universal war against Syria and a defeat to the American-Zionist plans to establish a new Middle East, and sent a message to the whole world that the Syrian Arab Army and its allies are able to liberate every inch of Syrian territory from the abomination of terrorism.
