U.S.-led “international coalition” forces on Wednesday targeted popular (paramilitary) forces fighting Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists and the Syrian Democratic Forces in the Deir-ez-Zor countryside.
SANA’s reporter in Deir-ez-Zor said that the coalition carried out 10 strikes on popular forces between the villages of Khsham and Al-Tabyia in the northeastern countryside of the province, killing and injuring scores.
The Russian Defense Ministry declared that the aggression showed once again that the real objective of U.S. forces in Syria is not to fight ISIS as claimed, but rather to seize and take over the economic assets of the Syrian Arab Republic.
The ministry in a statement said that there are no Russian military personnel in that particular area of Deir-ez-Zor.
