Syria is ready to resolve the crisis politically to preserve its sovereignty as an independent, free state, Minister of Information Omran al-Zoubi said on Tuesday.
Syria is also willing to go to the proposed Geneva conference, as long as it entailed dialogue between Syrians, Zoubi said, meeting with youth and journalists in Tartous.
"The opposition has one aim; to topple the state without any political project," he said, "while the Syrian state is working to defeat the armed opposition, linked to the U.S. and Israel, with a commitment to find a national opposition which has a productive presence as a mirror to the government."
He underlined that the Syrians will not accept any political solution that is not approved by President Bashar Assad, noting that a political solution must be presented in parallel with confronting terrorism.
The minister also called on all Syrians to confront aggression in the war against their enemies, saying that "Syria is encountering global and unprecedented aggression."
"The national media means a great deal the Syrian Arab Army who fights this war with utmost energy. Our national media is one of confrontation and struggle," he said.
