Regime Forces Advance in Aleppo Under Russian Air Cover

Assad's forces seized several towns in the southern countryside of Aleppo on Sunday, November 8, after nearly a month of clashes in the region. The attack was assisted by Iranian, Lebanese, Iraqi and Palestinian militias, in addition to Russian air cover.

Enab Baladi's correspondent in Aleppo said Assad forces were able to seize the villages of Aziziat Samaan and Kafr Haddad, while violent clashes continue in the villages of Tlelat, Tel Mamo and Barawi in the southern axis of the province.

The correspondent said the regime's advance came after violent clashes, during which aerial bombardment from helicopters and warplanes continued to target Free Syrian Army factions in the area.

Clashes also continue in regime-held Abtin village, in addition to the battles taking place in Khan Tuman area, where Nusra Front said it had managed to kill and capture insurgents belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC).

Assad's forces fighting in the southern countryside of Aleppo have received support from a range of foreign militias, such as: al-Quds Brigade and Fatimioun Brigade of the IRGC, Hezbollah, al-Nujabaa Movement, Iraqi Assaeb Ahl al-Haq Brigades, Palestinian Quds Brigades, the elite Lebanese Hezbollah al-Radwan forces, as well as local militias, most notably National Defense Force militias.
