The leader of the Syrian Revolutionary Front called on the rebel Supreme Military Council to hold its meetings in rebel-held areas inside Syria, instead of Istanbul, since all rebel commanders have no capacity to attend.
In a message submitted to the council and seen by Zaman al-Wasl, Jamal Maarouf, a member of SMC, criticized the Istanbul meeting agenda and the ‘non-corrective tendencies’ of some members.
Maarouf says he is ready to provide a secure place for SMC meetings, saying he will disregard any decisions made at meetings held abroad.
