Members of the National Dialogue Commission in Latakia staged a sit-in in al-Sheikh Daher Square on Wednesday evening in support for the Syrian army against any international aggression.
The demonstrators said Syrians will not be intimidated by threats or terrorism.
They expressed thanks to the countries supporting Syria in the face of aggression, especially Russia, China and Iran.
Fateh Jamous, a leader of the opposition Coalition for Peaceful Change Forces, told SANA: "As a committee in favor of national dialogue we will work with social and popular figures in rejection of aggression."
"Syria is a red line and we stand by the Syrian Arab Army in its war against terrorism and in the face of foreign aggression," added Ahad Rajab, a member of the politburo of the Solidarity Party.
Meanwhile, members of the Syrian community in France also staged a protest outside the French Parliament in Paris, which was convening to discuss the situation in Syria. They expressed their rejection of U.S. and Western aggression against Syria.
